I loved the extensive menu options here. They definitely have something here for everyone (plant based eaters included). The restaurant is on the smaller size and started to get busy as we finished our meal but service was good and quick. We started with the fried zucchini and potato pancakes. Both were really good, the fried zucchini was my favorite of the 2. The vegan ravioli was enjoyable but a bit interesting as its stuffed with white beans. The sauce has very big chunks of tomato but tasted very good. It's the same dipping sauce they serve with the fried zucchini. We also had the vegan bowl which comes with a tasty and thick peanut sauce. All the veggies were cooked well and is a great option for plant-based or healthy diners. One of the pasta dishes we got was a Shrimp and scallop Alfredo which was on the specials menu but I would recommend getting it if they have it available. The pasta was cooked well with the perfect amount of Alfredo and shrimp/scallops. The portions are very generous here and very budget friendly as well. Most of our meals came with a side salad so you'll have more than enough food to leave full and satisfied.
I'm not vegan. Not even vegetarian. But the vegan plate at Sweetwater is so dang good that I've not had any other entree. I did order a cup of she crab soup this time and it was fantastic. A little cayenne kick, lots of lump crab meat, and not a single stray bit of shell or cartilage. Thanks to the prep cook for doing such a meticulous job. Others in our group had the fra diavolo pasta, mango chutney pecan crusted chicken entree, and the burger. The potato cake is a great side served with an appropriate portion of sour cream. Service was good overall, but ur they could have been more timely with drink refills.
Update, I ve been here between reviews but it is time to say again how great they are. Especially the pork chop. It is without doubt one of the best you will find anywhere, trust me, I dare you to find one better. Great burgers and Salmon too.
Steak and egg breakfast was delicious not better than the salmon and egg. First time trying I wanted to switch things up and I actually ate all my food no leftovers. The bartender was great. There was a crying baby in there but I understood lol.
I rediscovered this place a few nights ago, with some friends. We used to frequent this restaurant when they were on the other side of Main St, but that's been many years ago. We were pleasantly surprised by the menu variety and the number of vegan dishes that they had. I'll admit that I got a bit nervous when the waitress took the order for all six people in our party and didn't write any of it down. However, she literally got every single order correct! The staff were friendly, service was quick, and the food was delicious. We will definitely be back!
The food has a very southern, home cooked vibe. I have been twice. I tried the catfish and grits which was good. The service is good too. The only thing is that both times I visited this place , they want to put me next to the restrooms when there is no one in there and mostly all the seats are available. I can understand if it's busy and that's all available... but if it's not, I feel you can choose a seat that is not next to the restroom.
Staff were friendly, food was simple and good. I love simple breakfast style food and it was exactly what we needed and not overpriced. Cute place in downtown summerville, we'll have to check out the shops next time. Eggs Benny was perfect, not salty and runny eggs. I really enjoyed the potato pancake and had a bite of my mom in laws French toast. The cinnamon butter was on point!
Love this place ! Locally owned and the owner and family are so nice ! First time review but not the first time dining here . Every visit has been consistent with top notch service and delicious food. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor dining . One of my favorite entrees is the short rib and ricotta gnocchi - it's tender marinated short rib with fresh ricotta cheese gnocchi and topped with shredded Asiago cheese. It's amazing ! I highly recommend this dish . Our most recent visit we ordered a special : sweet tea marinated fried chicken sandwich and fried zucchini . Both were absolutely delicious ! The zucchini was only lightly battered and it was the best fried zucchini I've ever had . The sweat tea chicken sandwich was crispy and delicious . Love this little gem in downtown Summerville ! Parking : small , free parking lot
First time here..thankful to be sat on a Friday night at 6:15...hard to get in to many places at this time...we entered and were immediately greeted..found out there would be a 15 minute wait so we sat at the bar..so we were sat fairly quickly and ordered the fried green tomatoes but subbed the Horsy sauce (sorry to all you horseradish lovers) we got the marinara instead...they were delish!! For dinner I ordered the Asiago chicken sandwich with a fully loaded baked potato..hubs wanted the Marsala pork but wanted to sub the grits..NOT ALLOWED...hmmm...now he is getting the steak salad...hmmm strange not to allow subs...I'm writing this review 'live' so you are getting it as it happen...so dinner was delivered and it was good...hubby enjoyed his salad...lol...as you may or may not know, hubs is NOT a salad person...but he did well...I see a snack in his near future...my chicken sandwich was really good...and we ordered the Sweetwater dessert to take home...some kind of pecan cheesecake thing...will eat later! Cheers everyone! Gracie was a great server
